The technical advancements and the growing IT industry is coming up with hundreds of new ideas based on mobile applications daily.
Here at Smarden we’ve been working on the technology of the Internet of Things and providing retrofit home automation solutions to our users where they can use our retrofit devices to automate their existing home and then use our SmarDen mobile application to control the electrical appliances from anywhere in the world. Since everything has a mobile application, we thought there must be an app for your home too and we came up with SmarDen, Aapke Ghar Ki App.
Introduction to the SmarDen Smart Home App
The SmarDen mobile app is a smart home application that lets you add multiple smart home devices and control your electrical appliances like lights, fans, tv, ac, heater, etc. directly from your smartphone from anywhere in the world.
The mobile application communicates with the Smarden devices that are connected to the wifi and from there to the SmarDen IoT platform. The communication between the devices and the mobile app is completely secure and all the data that is transferred from the devices to the cloud and from there to the mobile application is completely encrypted and secured with all the best industrial practices.
The hierarchy of the mobile application is similar to that of your home, like our homes, the user also has to create a home in the mobile application, and from there once the home is created, he can then add multiple rooms inside the home and then add multiple devices in those rooms, this hierarchy makes the mobile application very simple, user-friendly and easy to use so that people from age 5 – 100 can easily use smarden mobile application.
As we also have our family members living with us in our home, in a similar way once you have the smart home, you can add multiple family members in smarden mobile application which will give access to all the smart appliances to your family members as well and they will also be able to control the devices from their smartphones as well.
Integrations:
The SmarDen mobile application is integrated with the smart home platforms like Amazon Alexa and google assistant, which means once you have installed the smarden smart devices, you can also interact with them with the help of smart speakers like Alexa and google mini and you can control the devices with just your voice commands.
The Devices and the Technology:
Our solutions are retrofitted and we don’t want the user to replace their existing appliances to make them smart, the smarden smart switch goes behind the board to control the existing appliances from the smarden mobile app.
At Smarden we support device to cloud communication model and most of our devices like smart switches, curtain controllers, smart video doorbells, sensors, security cameras, smart plugs, smart touch switches, smart MCBs are connected to the wifi directly and the devices don’t require any gateway, however the smart locks that we provide are based on BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) hence our app supports both wifi and BLE based devices.
The Dashboard:
Like any other dashboard, smarden mobile app dashboard provides all the important information about the devices on the home screen, such as you’ll see the total power consumed by the appliances, the total number of appliances that are turned on, the appliances that are turned off and the appliances that are not connected to the WiFi at the moment.
After that you’ll get an option to add multiple switches from all the rooms on your dashboard, then you can also add the scene shortcut buttons and the remote shortcut buttons on the screen.
At the bottom, you can also check the temperature and the humidity in different rooms from the blaze+ smart switchboard devices. So, the home screen will be a customized version for your smart home that you can access on the go.
The Devices:
The Second screen will be of the devices from where you can access all the appliances in your smart home. Here on this screen you’ll see all the rooms that you’ve created in your home and from there you can control all the devices. Here you’ll have the feature to lock the rooms as well, once the room is locked, any manual action on the switches will give you a notification alert so that you can take proper actions. The smarden mobile app also supports the offline control of the devices, so if you’re connected to the same wifi network as your smart home devices, you can control all the appliances without even the internet connection with the smarden mobile application. Even in the local area connection, the devices are fully secured and the payload through the mobile app is completely encrypted, which makes the overall architecture of smart home devices completely secure and reliable.
The Scenes:
Think about organizing a home party and setting the overall ambiance of the home to chill out party mode where the AC is on, Party lights are lit, the Home theater system is running, the refrigerator is on Speakers are all hyped up and party playlist is on the move and that too with just a single click from your smartphone.
There is an ambiance for every mood, and this is all possible with the Smarden mobile application, now create a scene and select multiple appliances to turn on/off according to your choice with just a tap of the button. On this scene’s screen, you can do all of this and a lot more.
Routines are another great feature of the smarden mobile application, with routines you can select multiple appliances to turn on/off at a specific time, for example, you can set all the appliances to turn off automatically when you leave for the office and when the clock ticks the scheduled time, the action on the specific appliances will be executed so you don’t have to check them manually.
Workflows – It is an amazing way to program your appliances according to the sensor values and manual switching action. Workflows will turn on/off the appliances automatically depending upon the triggering action, for example, you can program the AC in the living room to turn on automatically when the temperature in the living room is above 30 Degrees. Similarly, you can turn on the lights when the motion is detected. In this way, workflows help you to program your home appliances to make better decisions according to the environment.
The Remotes:
How many remotes do you use in your home? One for TV, one for a set-top box, one for AC, one for a Home Theater system, one for projector, one for the audio system, etc. It is a hassle to manage all the remotes and then replace the batteries every quarter. Now with the SmarDen IR blasters and smarden mobile application, you don’t need to worry about remotes as we are going to replace all your remotes with the smarden mobile application. Add multiple remotes for multiple appliances like TV, AC, Set-top box, Home theater system, etc., and control them directly from the smarden app from anywhere in the world.
Features:
Works Remotely: The device works remotely with SmarDen Mobile application and it can be controlled from anywhere in the world. The User can control all the nodes individually from anywhere.
Scheduling: The user can schedule any individual load connected to the devices i.e. Lights, bulbs, fans, etc. to turn on/off at a specific time. Once the schedule is set the device will follow the instructions at that specific time. The user can also repeat the schedules to make it work throughout the week and at any point in time.
Routines: The User can also create a Routine depending on the requirements. In a particular routine, the user can set multiple appliances to turn on/off at a specific time of the day. Once the routine is set the devices will attain their state at that point in time.
For eg. I can create a routine to turn on the Fan and turn off the lights in my room at 9 AM the morning.
Auto-off timer: The user can also set auto-off timers for a specific appliance to turn off after a particular time.
For eg. I can set the auto-off timer to turn off the lights in 50 mins.
History: The user can also check the history of any individual appliance, the history report will tell the user about the switching details of that particular appliance. In the history details, the user will get to know about the time at which the appliance is turned on/off and it will also tell “WHO” controlled the appliance.
For eg. If I manually turned on the light at 9 AM, then in the history it will be updated as a manual off Action has been taken on lights at 9 AM, or if any of my family members controlled the device from the mobile app, I’ll get to know who controlled the device and at what time the action has been taken.
Add Family Members: The prime user of the Mobile application can add multiple family members to the app so that all the members of the family have complete access to all the devices present at their home.
Running Time: The user will also be able to check the number of running hours of all the individual devices from the mobile application.
Voice Control: All the devices can be controlled via google assistant and Amazon Alexa and you can also add Siri shortcuts to control the devices with Siri as well.
Scenes: The user can also create a scene to make specific adjustments to the devices and with a single tap of a button the scene will be executed.
For eg. I can create a party scene in which I can turn on the TV, dim the lights, turn on the AC and turn the volume of the soundbar to 100%.
Workflows: In the workflows, the user can create a workflow based on the sensor values. In the workflows, the user can control multiple appliances to turn on/off based on the sensor value.
For eg. I can create a workflow that will turn on the AC and turn off the LED lights Automatically when the Temperature in my living room is above 26 degrees Celsius.
Device Warranty Status: The User doesn’t need to worry about the warranty cards anymore, the warranty status of each device can be checked from the SmarDen mobile app itself.
Power Consumption: The user can track the daily, weekly, and monthly power consumption from the particular switchboard.
Intensity Control: The User can control the speed of the fan and the intensity of the light connected from the SmarDen Mobile application.
