How Smart is our SMART MCB?

Let’s first look at what an MCB is! Just like your traditional switches, MCB or a Miniature Circuit Breaker is a switch. But why is it called by a different name then? It is an automatic switch that turns off by default if the current flowing through the switch exceeds the set limit. An MCB is already a very smart invention as it prevents many mishaps from happening. When the MCB is down the current stops flowing because the circuits are now open and hence the appliance is not in any danger of getting ruined.
